Aftercare
Aftercare is very important in the appearance and longevity of your Permanent Makeup.
First 3 Days:
-
Using lukewarm water and a gentle cleanser, lightly massage your eyebrows in small circles, pat dry with a soft tissue and apply half of a rice grain size amount of ointment after each wash. Wash the brows every 3-4 hours.
Day 3-10:
-
Apply rice grain size amount of ointment morning and night.
General Notes:
-
Always wash your hands with disinfectant soap before wiping your eyebrows and/or applying the post-care ointment.
-
You are washing the lymph off your brows and using the provided ointment to moisturize the treated area.
-
Recommended cleansers: Cetaphil Daily Cleanser or Ponds basic cleanser are best.
-
Avoid using cleanser containing oils, charcoal, or acids. Avoid using bar soap and micellar water.
-
Too much ointment will cause the pigment to fade- Less is more!!!!
AVOID FOR NWEEKS:
-
Getting eyebrows wet in the shower (wash from neck down)
-
Picking, Peeling, touching or scratching of the treated area to avoid the removal of the pigment, except for when rinsing and applying post-care ointment
-
Do not sleep on your face/browns
-
Keep hair out of the eyebrows as it has a lot of oil and bacteria
-
Working out, playing sports, yoga, sweating etc. can prematurely fade the treated area
-
Hot sauna, hot bath, jacuzzi, and long hot showers
-
Performing tasks related to gardening or heavy household cleaning such as garage or basement cleaning where’re there is a lot of airborne dust/debris
-
Drinking alcohol in excess as it may lead to slow healing wounds; drink lots of water
-
Driving in open air vehicles such as convertibles, boats, bicycles or motorcycles
-
No botox/fills
-
No makeup directly on eyebrows
-
Facial oils and natural skin oil on the face will result in blurred hair-strokes
AVOID FOR NEXT 4 WEEKS:
-
Any laser or chemical treatments or peels, and/or any creams containing Retin-A or Glycolic acid on the face or neck. This can cause premature exfoliation of the implanted pigment.
-
Suntanning or salon tanning
-
Always let your esthetician know of any permanent makeup procedures before receiving peels. Microneedling, microdermabrasion, or lasering services.
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING HEALING
Following these aftercare instructions is the part to the results, appearance and longevity of your new brows
The entire healing process will take 4-6 weeks depending on your body regeneration and age. After treatment it is normal to feel a sunburned sensation for a couple days following by dry, itchy or tender skin. Your new browns will go through several phases during the healing cycle. Itching and flaking may appear during the first 7 days post-microblading procedure.
The pigment will appear very sharp and dark immediately after the procedure. This is because the pigment is still sitting on top of your skin and has not yet settled in completely. The color of the pigment will soften gradually.
Once the healing of the skin starts taking place, it will look like dandruff flakes or dry skin. However, this is just superficial color and dry skin being naturally exfoliated from your eyebrows. The final look of your eyebrows will be apparent approximately 39 days after your procedure.
The color may flake off and appear much softer and less visible but will slowly reappear over the next few weeks. This is all absolutely normal and why sometimes 2 appointments is necessary. Be patient and know that this is all part of the normal and expected healing process.
You can now enjoy your beautiful new eyebrows. Thank you for trusting me with your eyebrows!
